Testing we offer:
Color & Fundus Auto-fluorescence Ultrawide Angle Photography and Retinal Angiography
This tool allows photography of large areas of the retina and shows the blood flow to the retina, choroid (tissue under the retina), and optic nerve. It also helps make it easier for patient’s and their families to see what is happening inside the eye. We are able to better diagnose and follow the progress of retina disease with this tool.
Optical Coherence Tomography
This tool creates cross-sectional pictures of the retina, optic nerve, and front of the eye to help diagnose and monitor retina disease and glaucoma.
Ocular ultrasound (A and B Scan)
This tool uses sound waves to image the eye. We are able to examine the eye with ultrasound when issues such as an ocular hemorrhage or severe cataract limit an eye doctor from looking directly into the back of the eye. We also use this to measure tumors and other complications in the eye.
Treatments we offer:
Pars Plana Vitrectomy – We perform this surgery in the operating room at a hospital or surgery center to remove the vitreous gel from the center of the eye and treat underlying retina conditions. This is a primary treatment for many conditions including retinal detachments, bleeding in the eye (vitreous hemorrhage), removal of dislocated cataracts, and severe ocular infections.
Scleral Buckling – We perform this surgery in the operating room at a hospital or surgery center to externally indent the wall of the eye (sclera) to treat retinal detachments.
Retina Laser Treatment – We perform this in office treatment for holes or tears in the retina and treatment of bleeding retina disease such as diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusions.
Intraocular injections treat many retina conditions such as retinal vein occlusions and diabetic retinopathy.
